Every time you have students do  a group project, assign specific roles:

1. Use the project’s exemplar to define roles for each person in a group

2. Assign each student a role (i.e. facilitator, timer, etc.)

3. Reinforce the roles during work (i.e. “Who is the Facilitator?” “What does the Recorder say?”)
