Action Step of the Week

Every time you give a direction, ask for student attention first by:

  1. Square up, stand still, and scan the room

  2. Give a cue word or phrase (i.e. “class class” “freeze.”)

  3. Give a listening direction (i.e. “everyone in STAR” “voices off, eyes on me”)

  4. Repeat as necessary until 100% of students respond
