Have students go back and find text evidence to support their comprehension

Action Step of the Week

Every time students finish reading a shared text, prompt them to think and annotate:

1. Restate the question 

2. Tell students to:

   1. Think about their answer (30 seconds)

   2. Underline supporting evidence in the text (1 minute) 

3. Circulate to check evidence of medium/lower students
